A cobra  is a venomous snake. The cobra comes from the family Elapidae. And several genera, but particularly Naja. (Non-cobra elapidae include the taipans, brown snakes, tiger snakes, fierce snakes, coral snakes, mambas, and sea snakes.) Cobras generally inhabit tropical and desert regions of Asia and Africa.

There are many different types of cobras. Every type of cobra is poisonous.  It gets its poison from sacs behind its fangs. They all are pretty much the same except the King cobra. The only reason that the King cobra is different is because it is the only snake that kills and eats other snakes.
